The Department of Biochemistry is a wonderland for anyone who loves to work with chemicals and carry out experiments. The department has well trained faculty members who demonstrate the working of different chemicals, their biological effects and interactions between biological and chemical elements. The basic aim is to provide a thorough under-standing of the core principles and topics of Biochemistry and their experimental basis, and to enable students to acquire a specialized knowledge and understanding of selected aspects by means of a lecture series and research projects. Biochemistry depart-ment has a well equipped laboratory, it has chemical reagents and equipment necessary to teach students to perform various laboratory investigations needed to confirm diagnosis of various diseases. This includes teaching sessions and supervised practical groups imparting training for hematology, nerve and muscle, cardiovascular systems and special senses. Structured modules for each topic including practicals, problem based learning, video lectures and journal clubs ensures maximum student participation.
