What our fellow professionals say

THE WORD OF MOUTH

“This is a faculty! The faculty of FJDC here; it’s hard work and dedication speaks for itself. They remind me of the legendary Guru Dorna mentioned in Mahabaharta, his trained archer named Ekalavya who could be recognized by his skills, which were of the highest level, He could split an arrow with another in mid-air.

Yet when time came for Gurudakshna (tradition of repaying one’s teacher) the Guru ordered Ekalavya to cut off his right thumb. He complied.

I am not saying this should happen today, but this College deserves to be acknowledged and respected as much.”

Dr. S. M. Rub, (S.I)
Prof. Emeritus, University of Karachi,
Former President, CPSP, Renowned Physician.
Chief Guest 13th Convocation, 9th December 2009

“Up till 20 years ago there was no dental college in Karachi. Dr. S. Baqar Askary who had pressed its need and articulated his vision to establish a dental college. However, he received no encouragement from any university or the medical profession; to which I, myself, are a witness. Like a true visionary. Dr. Askary pursued his dream with tenacity and resolve and succeeded in founding, in 1992, the pioneering dental college in Karachi..

Presently by all accounts I know that Fatima Jinnah Dental College is one of the best if not the best in the country.”

Prof. Dr. Syed Arshad Husain
Chief of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry,
University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri, USA,
Chairman American Psychiatric Association’s
Committee on Psychiatric Dimensions of Disaster.
Chief Guest 10th Convocation 8th Sept. 2006

“I categorically state that my generation has utterly failed the Nation. This institution is run by progressives and nationalism should be imbibed in you.

We look forward to you for salvation. You are the future of this country. Speak up and be counted now, or it would be too late.”

Justice (R) Fakhruddin G. Ibrahim
Chief Guest, 14th Convocation,
1st December 2010

IS A GOOD WORD

There is not even one dentist per ten thousand people in Pakistan. Oral Health plan had been chalked out by successive governments but there is no implementation of any kind nor has health and education been a priority.

Under these circumstances Dr. Baqar Askary, who had been a student leader, not only established a dental institute but has also managed it with great expertise, without any support and under most unfavorable environment. The graduates of this College are an asset for the Nation. Only through well educated and trained human resource can we ever bring about the necessary change.

I present Dr. Baqar Askary: “Kheraj-e-Tehseen” for this exemplary contribution and request everyone to support his efforts.

Prof. Dr. Pirzada Qasim Siddiqui
Former, Vice Chancellor, University of Karachi,
Chancellor Ziauddin University,
Chief Guest, 8th White Coat Ceremony
28th Dec. 2012

In this short span of time FJDC has established itself on permanent and firm grounds. It is primarily an under-graduate institution for BDS but has played a leading role in Faculty Development and Research.

FJDC has contributed more than its share to the advancement of dentistry in Pakistan. Being the pioneering dental college in the private sector and sixth in the country.

Fatima Jinnah Dental College has acted as a beacon of light for those who followed later on. There are a total of 33 dental institutions functioning in the country today.

What Dr. Sagheer Ahmed say

THE WORD OF MOUTH

I remember the initial days of Fatima Jinnah Dental College which was in 1992. There was lack of opportunities for the youth to pursue professional education in the field of Medicine specially Dentistry. We shared the philosophy and vision of the founder of this College Dr. Baqar Askary and established a premium medical and dental college in the public sector known to all as Karachi Medical & Dental College.

I consider the graduate of FJDC most lucky to have benefitted from the facilities created by the College Administration. Thousands of others can only dream of such an opportunity.

Dr. Sagheer Ahmed,

Ministry of Health, Sindh,
Chief Guest,
